SAAS Product

I was tasked with designing a SaaS product for the tech industry, and the catch was, it needed to be completed within a tight deadline. If you're familiar with GV's Design Sprint methodology, you'll understand that this was quite the challenge. Despite the tight timeframe, I saw it as a great opportunity to showcase how to design an app efficiently. In this article, I'll share my process and the steps I took to meet the deadline while delivering a high-quality product.

Problem Statement

Due to the pandemic, everything went online.
But this created problem for the management people who have restaurants, hospitals, malls to handle.

Internally communication

Contactless communication (apart from call and messages)

Assigning task

Checking the progress of the emoplyee

02

Solution

It became really necessary to make everything contactless and safe during the pandemic. Keeping that in mind the β€œCheqq” was launched.
In this App, one can

Create Cheqqlists

Assign work to employees

Check the status of the work

Assign daily To-Do to employees

Keep track of sensors and much more

Track the safety of your entire business across multiple locations.

03

Challenge 🎯

The prototype of the App was needed for customer prospect. Which is really necessary before investing so much money and time in the development phase. I had only 6 days to do it. A prototype of both(admin and user) views was needed. I designed approximately 170 screens for the prototype for the proper demo.

Market Research πŸ“Š

Pandemic created a communication gap distance between employees and admin. A product was required to fill the gap between employees and admin. Without any contact.

How Might We Question

How might we assign them the task?

How might we give them a to-do list?

How might we check the status work?

User Personas πŸ™πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ™ŽπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

The results from the user survey provided sufficient information to create user personas. I opted for creating age and gender agnostic personas to focus on achieving user goals equally regardless of age and gender.

After customer prospect, we got some good feedback and some minor corrections too. I modified everything according to it and submitted the project. As the goal of the App was to create a contactless environment at the workplace. We wanted to do usability testing with the users. Logo

I wanted a significant logo. I thought of a Writing pad and I thought of a tick mark as a logo and soon after some iterations, I came up with combining a Checkmark and a writing pad.

Color

I went for a blue color scheme. Blue represents the meaning of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, and intelligence.

Typography

I choose Roboto. It is a rounded, clean typeface with a straightforward geometric design that offers clean lines.
